Experience this collection of black and white photographs, taken between 1998 and 2000. This Photography book is a snapshot of a people rich in tradition and culture. From the streets and subways of Downtown Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan to Hong Kong and Thailand. As well as the proud history of Hiroshima and the Great Buddha of Kamakura. Life in Japan, Thailand and China was the motivation for this work. The collection is divided into two sections; People and Places. People, represents the intimate portraits of the public as well as individuals encountered along the way throughout Asia. Places, is made up of sites that represent the architectural, historical and urban landscape throughout this land. Each photograph is titled with the description, place and year. Encounters with the People
Organized both chronologically and thematically, Encounters with the People is an edited, annotated compilation of unique primary sources related to Nez Perce history--Native American oral histories, diary excerpts, military reports, maps, and more. Generous elders shared their collective memory of carefully guarded stories passed down through multiple generations.
