This book provides a selection of the best papers presented at the 18th Conference of the Portuguese Association for Information Systems (CAPSI), which was held in 2018. The focus of the conference and of these proceedings lies on the interplay between information systems and Industry 4.0. All contributions, which include original research, review papers and case studies, were peer-reviewed in a double blind process.
Highlights of Spanish Astrophysics IV
This volume documents the contributions presented at the Seventh Scientific Meeting of the Spanish Astronomical Society (Sociedad Española de Astronomía, SEA). The event bought together 301 participants who presented 161 contributed talks and 120 posters, the greatest number of contributions in the history of the meeting. The fact that most exciting items of the current astronomical research were addressed in the meeting is proof of the good health of the SEA, a consolidated organization founded fifteen years ago in Barcelona.

El coronel Ildefonso Puigdengolas Ponce de León (1876-1936) fue un veterano que luchó en Cuba y Marruecos y desarrolló su historial en el Cuerpo de Seguridad, institución policial de la Segunda República. Bien considerado por los políticos republicanos, fue nombrado gobernador militar de Badajoz, ciudad que fue tomada por las fuerzas sublevadas. Las verdaderas circunstancias de la caída de Badajoz han estado ocultas hasta hace muy poco por la prensa-propaganda de la época, que escondió y deformó lo que realmente sucedió. Del máximo responsable militar de la defensa de Badajoz no sabíamos casi nada y muchos de los datos que circulaban sobre él eran difusos y contradictorios. Este libro aporta información nueva sobre su vida y su personalidad, pero también desmiente falsedades vertidas sobre este militar y el que fue el episodio más importante de su carrera.

O Instituto Nacional de Ciência Política (INCP): uma "Escola de Patriotismo" no Estado Novo (1940-1945)
A presente publicação apresenta aos leitores um minucioso estudo acerca do Instituto Nacional de Ciência Política (INCP), organização civil fundada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, na primeira metade da década de 1940. Ao longo de cinco anos, as atividades dessa agremiação atraíram intelectuais interessados em contribuir com a obra política de Getúlio Vargas e com o regime do Estado Novo. Sob a alcunha de "Escola de Patriotismo", os membros do INCP desenvolveram um vasto projeto intelectual, que incluiu a realização de reuniões na Associação Brasileira de Imprensa e a publicação de uma revista institucional, a Ciência Política. Para acompanhar as diferentes fases da trajetória do INCP, foi realizado um rigoroso estudo em diferentes tipos de fontes documentais e periódicas. Esperamos que os resultados aqui apresentados contribuam com pesquisas relacionadas ao governo de Getúlio Vargas.
Identity in Professional Wrestling
Part sport, part performance art, professional wrestling's appeal crosses national, racial and gender boundaries--in large part by playing to national, racial and gender stereotypes that resonate with audiences. Scholars who study competitive sports tend to dismiss wrestling, with its scripted outcomes, as "fake," yet fail to recognize a key similarity: both present athletic displays for maximized profit through live events, television viewership and merchandise sales. This collection of new essays contributes to the literature on pro wrestling with a broad exploration of identity in the sport. Topics include cultural appropriation in the ring, gender non-comformity, national stereotypes, and wrestling as transmission of cultural values.
