This was the first book I put together, based on the idea of a portfolio. Originally published in 2009, the book is a package of my artist statements, experiences, methods and includes drawings, paintings and my cv (at that time). I would recommend using the book method to put together a package for galleries and Calls. Originally it was to be a series, but I have since decided to put all the model works in one book. To be released in 2014.
Art & Money: This is not a thick book, nor one that it will take you a long time to read if you read it like a novel. This is not a novel however, and I don't give you superfluous chatter and nonsensical musings. What you will get is a down to earth, business oriented book with my real life examples of working with other artists, businesses and non profits. This book is about artists and money, artists in the community, artists supporting artists, artists and businesses, and about artists and charities. Take these principles and apply them if you are in a larger city. If you are like me, you will use the info in this book, and the info in other books to help you in your career that is also your journey.
Toby's heart sinks when he hears that Danny Lamb is coming to Lindley High School. Danny will expect Toby to be his friend, and Toby doesn't want that again. It was bad enough in the infants. Danny is different - that's the trouble - though it's hard to say exactly why. Being Danny's friend would destroy his street cred and put his friends off him. He doesn't want to harm Danny. He wouldn't bully him. Of course not. But on a school trip to Normandy, close to the D-Day beaches where men fought to defeat Fascism, a harmless game goes dreadfully wrong. `
