Berättelsen om Karolina är ett stycke svensk kvinnohistoria. Karolina föddes i Stockholm 1870 med okända föräldrar och växte upp i ett fosterhem i Uppland. Vid sekelskiftet var hon husjungfru i Stockholm. Hon blev socialdemokratisk kommunalpolitiker i Nynäshamn och var under några år ledamot av skolrådet. Hon dog i Nynäshamn 1937.
