For Vajrayana practitioners, the Guhyagarbha Tantra is one of the most important tantras because it is the foundation of all tantras, particularly the Inner Tantras. Therefore it's called the "King of All Tantras." The Guhyagarbha Tantra is the source of every pith instruction. Guru Padmasambhava used these teachings to initiate, transmit, and guide practitioners. This is why the twenty-five disciples and the eighty mahasiddhas of the Yerpa region all reached enlightenment within a single lifetime. Because the Guhyagarbha Tantra was so special and dear, just before his departure from Tibet, Guru Padmasambhava wrote a summary of these teachings and gave them to his students. The title of that summary was Garland of Views of the Pith Instructions. After giving them to Dharma King Trisong Deutsen as his final teaching, Guru Rinpoche said, "Never forget these."

The Dark Red Amulet

The Dark Red Amulet presents the Vajrayana practice of Vajrakilaya according to the oral transmission lineage of the great seventeenth-century treasure-revealer Tsasum Lingpa. Vajrakilaya embodies the enlightened activity of all the buddhas that subjugates delusion and negativity in order to clear obstacles to spiritual practice. The essential purpose of Vajrakilaya practice is to discover the absolute vajra nature that will transform every duality hindrance into clear wisdom and compassion. In this text, the renowned scholars and meditation masters Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche present the history of this lineage and the miraculous story of how Tsasum Lingpa revealed this terma teaching. Their line-by-line commentary on the short and condensed sadhanas provides an invaluable guide for practitioners to combine the skillful means of compassion and wisdom that are the foundation of Tibetan Buddhism.

The Seven Chapter Prayer is one of the most renowned practices in Tibetan Buddhism. It condenses and embodies all the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni into a single practice. Since its discovery by the great terton Rigdzin Godemchen in the 14th century, it has been regarded as one of the most essential and powerful ways to practice on Guru Padmasambhava. This Seven Chapter Prayer practice is popular in the Nyingma school, as well as in the Kagyu and Sakya schools. Because of its immense popularity, many Seven Chapter Prayer lineages have developed. In particular, there is the Northern Treasures lineage in which the teaching itself originated. Later, the great scholar and siddha Karma Chagme co...
