Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) by Antoine de Saint-Exupery (published in 1943) is used in French classrooms around the world as a way to introduce students to the beauty of French literature and creative expression. However, until now, no companion book existed that captured its author's deep, mystical understanding of the human connection with nature and the the universe as well as presenting it in an accessible way for students of the French language and literatures. Written by a Ph.D. in French Literature (Northwestern University, 2004), this book is tailored to intermediate to advanced students who will be able to relate to the concepts and ideas presented in manageable, visually appealing ways. It is also for anyone who wants to understand this magnificent tale from a more profound and connected place, while reveling in the uncovered nuance and delightful complexity in simplicity they discover here. Bon voyage !
