Con este volumen se contribuye al debate en torno a la salud de los jóvenes, que es relevante dentro de las ciencias sociales en general y de la antropología médica en particular, debido a la cantidad de elementos distintos que están implicados en los procesos de salud, enfermedad y atención de las poblaciones jóvenes, y de las sofisticadas relaciones existentes entre ellos. Asimismo también es un debate relevante porque tiene implicaciones públicas: las políticas de salud de los jóvenes tienen que estar basadas menos en prejuicios, estigmas o alarmismos sociales mas o menos coyunturales, y mucho más en un conocimiento riguroso y situado de las tan distintas realidades que configuran el campo de relaciones entre salud y jóvenes.
