Heuristics for Optimization and Learning
This book is a new contribution aiming to give some last research findings in the field of optimization and computing. This work is in the same field target than our two previous books published: “Recent Developments in Metaheuristics” and “Metaheuristics for Production Systems”, books in Springer Series in Operations Research/Computer Science Interfaces. The challenge with this work is to gather the main contribution in three fields, optimization technique for production decision, general development for optimization and computing method and wider spread applications. The number of researches dealing with decision maker tool and optimization method grows very quickly these last years and in a large number of fields. We may be able to read nice and worthy works from research developed in chemical, mechanical, computing, automotive and many other fields.
Recent Developments in Metaheuristics
This book highlights state-of-the-art developments in metaheuristics research. It examines all aspects of metaheuristic research including new algorithmic developments, applications, new research challenges, theoretical developments, implementation issues, in-depth experimental studies. Optimization and Learning
This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Optimization and Learning, OLA 2021, held in Catania, Italy, in June 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the conference was held online. The 27 full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 62 submissions. The papers presented in the volume are organized in topical sections on synergies between optimization and learning; learning for optimization; machine learning and deep learning; transportation and logistics; optimization; applications of learning and optimization methods.
Optimization of Logistics
This book aims to help engineers, Masters students and young researchers to understand and gain a general knowledge of logistic systems optimization problems and techniques, such as system design, layout, stock management, quality management, lot-sizing or scheduling. It summarizes the evaluation and optimization methods used to solve the most frequent problems. In particular, the authors also emphasize some recent and interesting scientific developments, as well as presenting some industrial applications and some solved instances from real-life cases. Performance evaluation tools (Petri nets, the Markov process, discrete event simulation, etc.) and optimization techniques (branch-and-bound, dynamic programming, genetic algorithms, ant colony optimization, etc.) are presented first. Then, new optimization methods are presented to solve systems design problems, layout problems and buffer-sizing optimization. Forecasting methods, inventory optimization, packing problems, lot-sizing quality management and scheduling are presented with examples in the final chapters.
Metaheuristics for Production Systems
This book discusses the main techniques and newest trends to manage and optimize the production and service systems. The book begins by examining the three main levels of decision systems in production: the long term (strategic), the middle term (tactical) and short term (operational). Operations Research Proceedings 2010
This book contains selected papers from the symposium "Operations Research 2010" which was held from September 1-3, 2010 at the "Universität der Bundeswehr München", Germany. The international conference, which also serves as the annual meeting of the German Operations Research Society (GOR), attracted more than 600 participants from more than thirty countries.
