Volume 26 of 'Progress in Drug Research' contains 10 articles, a subject index for this volume, an alphabetic subject index for volumes 1-26, and an author and subject index for all the volumes which have so far been published. The contributions of volume 26 cover a wide field of drug research and therapy, and some are directed towards tropical deseases. As in previous volumes, the authors have also tried not only to summa rise the current status of particular fields of drug research, but also to provide leads for future research activity. The articles in this volume will be of special value not only to those actively engaged in resolving the diverse problems in drug research, but also to those who wish to keep abrest of the latest developments influencing modern therapy. In addition, it is believed that the 26 volumes of "Progress in Drug Research" now available represent a useful reference work of an encyclo paedic character.

Chemistry and Biology of the Kallikrein-kinin System in Health and Disease
The diversity and significance of recent research on the kallikrein-kinin system provided the impetus for this international conference, the purpose of which was the assessment of our knowledge and the development of a base from which to plan future research. Through the generous support of the Fogarty International Center and of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the Organizing Committee was able to bring together authorities in virtually every aspect of kinin research. The kallikrein-kinin field was divided into three major areas: A) Characterization and assays of components of the kallikrein-kinin systems; B) Interacting systems: Fibrinolysis, complement, coagulation, and prostaglandins; and C) Physiological, pathological, and clinical significance. Invited experts were instructed to present concise critical reviews along with any new data. Time was a)so provided for discussants to present relevant comments and data. Selected discussions accompany the keynote reports, and these comprise the short chapters.
Summaries of Research and Training Grants in Solid Waste Disposal
This publication briefly describes research and training activities in solid wastes management supported by Public Health Service grants through January 1, 1967. The research summaries which follow describe purposes, procedures, and list publications resulting from the work. The summaries generally are in an order related to the length of time projects have been supported. The training summaries describe the development of solid wastes curricula in the universities.
