How to Hide a Lion

How does a very small girl hide a very large lion? It's not easy, but Iris has to do her best, because mums and dads can be funny about having a lion in the house. Luckily, there are lots of good places to hide a lion - behind the shower curtain, in your bed, and even up a tree. A funny, heart-warming story about a very special friendship.

The collection comprises twenty letters in their original stamped envelopes, sent ‘home’ from Queensland between 1894 and 1903. Fifteen letters are from Conrad M. Kelsall (Cairns, 1899; Riverstone, 1899, 1901-1903) to his father, Captain Theophilus Moultrie Kelsall, his mother, or his sisters, Lily, Kathleen, Ida, Nellie and Isabel, nearly all addressed to the family home at Youngaton, Westward Ho!, Devon, England. Five of the letters are from Alfred M. Stephens (Otmoor, Coomera, 1894; Hambledon Station and Wrights Creek, Cairns, 1898; Hambledon Junction, 1900) also to Captain Kelsall, his cousin. The collection also includes transcripts of each of the letters.
