This guide encourages people to discover the beauty of the Kempsey Shire on the Mid North coast of NSW. For several years, the walking group of the local University of the Third Age (KMVU3A), known as the Macleay Meanderers, has explored tracks and pathways of 5km to 10km. The best walks were selected for this book with detailed descriptions, each accompanied by a clear map and illustrated with numerous photos.
Ballynamadoo Flanagans
Over nearly eleven years the Flanagan family of Ballynamadoo, County Cavan left the starving, fever-ridden, bloodstained emerald isle of injustice and challengers. Reunited by the peaceful Macleay River, NSW, the climate here would bring its own challenges. Drought then flooding rains would wipe out all they had built up. This resilient family would then start again. Tragically not all survived to see better lives and prosperity for the next generation. As in Ireland, the Banshee would cry. The next generation again would be left with only one parent to raise a young family.
