Blood, Land, and Sex
In Eritrea, state, traditional, and religious laws equally prevail, but any of these legal systems may be put into play depending upon the individual or individuals involved in a legal dispute. Because of conflicting laws, it has been difficult for Eritreans to come to a consensus on what constitutes their legal system. In Blood, Land, and Sex, Lyda Favali and Roy Pateman examine the roles of the state, ethnic groups, religious groups, and the international community in several key areas of Eritrean law -- blood feud or murder, land tenure, gender relations (marriage, prostitution, rape), and female genital surgery. Favali and Pateman explore the intersections of the various laws and discuss how change can be brought to communities where legal ambiguity prevails, often to the grave harm of women and other powerless individuals. This significant book focuses on how Eritrea and other newly emerging democracies might build pluralist legal systems that will be acceptable to an ethnically and religiously diverse population.

PROCEEDING INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND SEMINAR
Polkespad Press Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Padang Covid 19 was declared as a global pandemic, it has had many impacts on health education and practice. So a strategy is needed to continue the academics activities. Virtual learning using technology is one way to keep the learning process running smoothly. Based on the situation, this year’s schedule of the Health Ministry Polytechnic of Padang 2022 wil focus on the substantial theme “The Role of Health Education in Preparedness Reserved Health Task Force for Disaster”, held in Padang, Indonesia, blended conference on 2nd – 3 rd November 2022. The conference particularly welcomes contributions from health educationalists, education managers, practitioners, researchers, and students. The number of participants conference is 35 participants for oral/ poster presentation.
Candida and Candidamycosis
Scientists from 24 countries who participated in the ~ Symposium on Candida and Candidamycosis, 24-28 April 1989, Antalya, Turkey, have made important contributions to a better understanding of Candida and its infections - by their presence, presentations and discussions in the meeting. The Turkish Microbiological Society, organizing the Symposium in the name of the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS), thanks all participants for realising this important meeting on such an important subject. In this book the full manuscripts of invited and free papers of the meeting are presented. The Editors extend their sincere thanks to all contributors of papers; to FEMS for encouraging and undertaking the arrangements for publication; to Ege University Publishing House for printing; to Plenum Publishing Company for publishing; and to all colleagues and friends who with their help contributed to this book. Kadim Dünya Coğrafyası
Bu çalışmada İslam dünyasındaki büyük coğrafyacılardan Şerif el-İdrisî’nin Nüzhetü’l-Müştak adlı coğrafya kitabının Akdeniz, Türkiye, Avrupa kısımlarının tercümesi verilmektedir. Bu bölgelerden bilhassa Avrupa coğrafyası İslam coğrafya kitaplarında genellikle ihmal edilmekte veya çok kısa yazılmaktadır. Bu tercümeyle biz bu eksikliği tamamlamaya çalıştık. Avrupa kıtasında İngiltere, İskandinavya, Rusya dahil Avrupa coğrafyasının tamamına yakını verilmektedir. Bununla beraber İdrisî coğrafyasında bazı hatalar vardır. Bu hataların bir kısmına tercüme işlemi yapılırken çalışmada işaret edilmiştir bir kısmı ise Avrupa tercümelerinde bile tam aydınlatılmamıştır. Çalışma içerisinde gerekli açıklamalarda bulunarak en yalın biçimde okuyuculara İslam coğrafyacılarının eksik bıraktıkları kısımları tanıtmaya çalıştık..
