Genetic Programming
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th European Conference on Genetic Programming, EuroGP 2008, held in Naples, Italy, in March 2008 colocated with EvoCOP 2008. The 21 revised plenary papers and 10 revised poster papers were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 61 submissions. A great variety of topics are presented reflecting the current state of research in the field of genetic programming, including the latest work on representations, theory, operators and analysis, evolvable hardware, agents and numerous applications.
Applications of Evolutionary Computing
This book constitutes the refereed joint proceedings of eleven European workshops on the Theory and Applications of Evolutionary Computation, EvoWorkshops 2009, held in Tübingen, Germany, in April 2009 within the scope of the EvoStar 2009 event. The 68 revised full papers and 23 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 143 submissions. With respect to the eleven workshops covered, the papers are organized in topical sections on telecommunication networks and other parallel and distributed systems, environmental issues, finance and economics, games, design automation, image analysis and signal processing, interactive evolution and humanized computational intelligence, music, sound, art and design, continuous parameter optimisation, stochastic and dynamic environments, as well as transportation and logistics.
Pattern Recognition
It is both an honor and a pleasure to hold the 27th Annual Meeting of the German Association for Pattern Recognition, DAGM 2005, at the Vienna U- versity of Technology, Austria, organized by the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Group. We received 122 contributions of which we were able to accept 29 as oral presentations and 31 as posters. Each paper received three reviews, upon which decisions were made based on correctness, presentation, technical depth, scienti?c signi?cance and originality. Applications of Evolutionary Computation
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on the Applications of Evolutionary Computation, EvoApplications 2011, held in Torino, Italy, in April 2011 colocated with the Evo* 2011 events. Thanks to the large number of submissions received, the proceedings for EvoApplications 2011 are divided across two volumes (LNCS 6624 and 6625). The present volume contains contributions for EvoCOMNET, EvoFIN, EvoIHOT, EvoMUSART, EvoSTIM, and EvoTRANSLOC. The 51 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. This volume presents an overview about the latest research in EC. Areas where evolutionary computation techniques have been applied range from telecommunication networks to complex systems, finance and economics, games, image analysis, evolutionary music and art, parameter optimization, scheduling, and logistics. Computational Intelligence
This book includes a set of selected revised and extended versions of the best papers presented at the 13th International Joint Conference on Computational Intelligence (IJCCI 2021) – held as an online event, from October 25 to 27, 2021. Numerical Methods and Optimization in Finance
This book describes computational finance tools. It covers fundamental numerical analysis and computational techniques, such as option pricing, and gives special attention to simulation and optimization. Many chapters are organized as case studies around portfolio insurance and risk estimation problems. In particular, several chapters explain optimization heuristics and how to use them for portfolio selection and in calibration of estimation and option pricing models.
