The FAO Corporate Statistical Programme of Work (SPW) provides an overview and a detailed description of the statistical activities carried out by all FAO divisions active in the field of statistics. The first SPW was compiled in 2010 with the scope of providing a clear overview of ongoing statistical work at FAO. Since then it has become a regular activity. This is the sixth version and covers the 2020–2021 biennium. Research on Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) investigates how information and communication technologies can be designed in order to support pedagogical activities. The Evidence Based Design (EBD) of a system bases its decisions on empirical evidence and effectiveness. The evidence-based TEL workshop (ebTEL) brings together TEL and EBD. The first edition of ebTEL collected contributions in the area of TEL from computer science, artificial intelligence, evidence-based medicine, educational psychology and pedagogy. Like the previous edition, this second edition, ebTEL’13, wants to be a forum in which TEL researchers and practitioners alike can discuss innovative evidence-based ideas, projects, and lessons related to TEL. The workshop took place in Salamanca, Spain, on May 22nd-24th 2013.
Guidelines on data disaggregation for SDG Indicators using survey data
As a member of the working group on data disaggregation, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has taken numerous steps towards supporting Member Countries in the production of disaggregated estimates. Within this framework, these Guidelines offer methodological and practical guidance for the production of direct and indirect disaggregated estimates of SDG indicators having surveys as their main or preferred data source. Furthermore, the publication provides tools to assess the accuracy of these estimates and presents strategies for the improvement of output quality, including Small Area Estimation methods.
