Carl Oscar Sjoquist (1867-1955) was born in Alem, Kalmer, Sweden. In 1881 he immigrated to America to live with his uncle. He settled in North Dakota. There he met Mary Ann Forbes (1873-1932) who was born in Drimoleague, Cork, Ireland. They were the parents of four children. Descendants live in North Dakota, California and other parts of the United States.
