Shows how gender, profession, nationality, ethnicity, the status of each of them in the camp, etc., color their personal stories. Reflects on the chaos of Auschwitz and on the role of the grotesque in the survivors' narratives. Compares these six narratives to those by Anne Frank and Eli Wiesel.
