Conosceremo i progressi nella sua protezione legale e posizioni filosofiche che hanno fondato la protezione del patrimonio culturale immateriale dei popoli indigeni, evidenzia anche il valore e la ricchezza della diversità culturale e delle conoscenze tradizionali dei popoli indigeni del Messico e l'importanza della sua protezione efficace per la salvaguardia della loro identità e della loro sopravvivenza come popoli. L'analisi dell'evoluzione della protezione del patrimonio immateriale è contestualizzata nello studio del quadro giuridico messicano che include sia la legislazione nazionale che internazionale in vigore.
