Preaching and the Personal
Preaching is a very personal process: a minister or speaker prepares his or her own sermon and presents it to the congregation. Sermons draw upon the Bible as a central source, and the source provides a basis of faith for the believing community. The preaching event is also personal for the individual members of the congregation, who receive the preacher's words, based on a biblical text, in their own unique way. In the synthesis of Biblical text, sermon, and listener response, many testimoniesare present. Preaching and the Personal is a collection of papers that have been presented at the Society of Biblical Literature. These papers encourage and nurture dialogue among scholars who share an interest in the unique theological problems inherent to the relationship between biblical interpretation and proclamation. Preaching and the Personal opens a stimulating dialogue in the field.
Handbook of Latina/o Theologies
Handbook of Latino/a Theologies explores the varied theological, ecclesiastical, spiritual, and cultural expressions associated with the term 'Latino/a or Hispanic theology.' There is no single definition of Hispanic/Latino theology, but rather a multiplicity of perspectives within the diverse Latino/a communities that articulate a distinctive and relevant Hispanic viewpoint. This collection of thirty-four essays surveys how Latinos/as understand and do theology within those varied contexts. It gives attention to the history, nature, sources, and development of Latinos/as theological expressions within the U.S. and their contribution to the overall theological discourse and to the individual groups that gave rise to them. Part I of the handbook presents essays on many traditional topics in Christian theology representative both of the individual authors and various beliefs found in Latino/a communities. Part II focuses on trends and contextual issues within the overall Hispanic/Latino theological conversation.

La presente obra rellena un vacío que hasta el momento existía en la investigación histórica sobre el territorio conquense en el mundo antiguo, que ha estado siempre muy cerrada en el estudio de los restos arqueológicos. La metodología utilizada, tratando de superar los límites administrativos actuales, es la edición y traducción de los textos clásicos greco-latinos que se relacionaban con la tierra de Cuenca, a lo que se une un extenso análisis a partir de una completa bibliografía y de las reflexiones del autor. La tierra de Cuenca se manifiesta, en los datos de las fuentes clásicas, como una zona de transición y contacto entre grupos étnicos diferentes. En este sentido, aparecen nombres como el de los beribraces, olcades, carpetanos, celtíberos o lobetanos, cuyas realidades se tratan de interpretar, así como el de precisar sus posibles zonas de asentamiento.
