James William Chalk (1762-1817) and his brother, Edward, immigrated about 1802 from England to Newburgh, New York. James William Chalk later moved to Scott County, Kentucky. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, Illinois, Arkansas, Texas and elsewhere. Includes history and some genealogy of the family in England to 1066 A.D.
