Ohne Frage ist 'Digitalität' nicht nur eine technische, kulturelle und gesellschaftliche, sondern auch eine kommunikative Herausforderung ersten Ranges. Damit wird auch das Anliegen von Glaubenskommunikation neu zu prüfen sein. Als eine der ersten lotet das Buch die Chancen digitaler Kulturräume für die kirchliche Glaubenskommunikation (früher: 'Verkündigung') systematisch aus. Das Ergebnis ist überraschend: Authentische Kommunikation über religiöse Bedeutungen ist im digitalen Kulturraum nicht nur genauso möglich wie in analogen Begegnungen. Es gibt sogar gute Gründe für die Annahme, dass Digitalität und Authentizität einander fordern und ermöglichen. Die entschlossene Nutzung und Begehung der verschiedenen digitalen Kulturräume ist darum ein Gebot der Stunde und ein Kairos für eine entsprechende Kirchenentwicklung.
