The International Conference on Industrial, Engineering and Other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems (IEA/AIE), always sponsored by the International So- ety of Applied Intelligence (ISAI), emphasizes applications of applied intelligent systems to solve real-life problems in all areas. It is held every year and has become one of the biggest and most important academic activities concerning the theory and applications of intelligent systems in the world. The IEA/AIE 2009 conference was hosted by the National University of Tainan and National University of Kaohsiung in Taiwan. This was the first time that the IEA/AIE conference was held in Taiwan. We received 286 papers from all parts...
Engineering and design are often a necessary steps for an industry to become effective. Industry modeling can help to bridge the communication gap among engineers and system designers. Dynamic Methods and Process Advancements in Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Materials Engineering examines the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical equipments and systems. Targeting researchers, practitioners, and academicians, this volume promotes innovative findings in mechanical, manufacturing and materials engineering.
Nanotubes are a unique class of materials because their properties depend not only on their composition but also on their geometry. The diameter, number of walls, length, chirality, van der Waals forces, and quality all affect the properties and performance of nanotubes. This dependence on geometry is what makes scaling-up nanotubes to form bulk material so challenging. Nanotubes are also unusual because they stick together to form bundles or strands. Nanotube superfiber materials are fibrous assemblages of nanotubes and strands. The hope and dream of researchers around the world is that nanotube superfiber materials will have broad applications and change engineering design. This chapter gives a perspective on nanotube superfiber development. This chapter discusses new applications—where we think we can go with the material properties and what applications will be enabled—and new techniques for developing superfiber material.
In the evolving environment of bioinformatics, genomics, and computational biology, academic scholars are facing a challenging challenge – keeping informed about the latest research trends and findings. With unprecedented advancements in sequencing technologies, computational algorithms, and machine learning, these fields have become indispensable tools for drug discovery, disease research, genome sequencing, and more. As scholars strive to decode the language of DNA, predict protein structures, and navigate the complexities of biological data analysis, the need for a comprehensive and up-to-date resource becomes paramount. The Research Anthology on Bioinformatics, Genomics, and Computatio...

Electrochemical Micromachining for Nanofabrication, MEMS and Nanotechnology is the first book solely dedicated to electrochemical micromachining (EMM). It begins with fundamentals, techniques, processes, and conditions, continuing with in-depth discussions of mechanisms of material removal, including an empirical model on the material removal rate for EMM (supported by experimental validation). The book moves next to construction-related features of EMM setup suitable for industrial micromachining applications, varying types of EMM, and the latest developments in the improvement of EMM setup. Further, it covers power supply, roll of electrolyte, and other major factors influencing EMM proces...
Print Edition of Lions District 324B1 Directory for 2013-14 was released by District Governor MJF Lion S Shanmugam in August 2013, during his regime. Considering the developments in Mobile Technology, Digital Directories were introduced for Lionism in November 2015, by Lion Dr Er J Shivakumaar. To create Archives of Lions Directories Digitally and make available in every Lion's Mobile Phones, This Edition is Digitised in September 2016. This is replica of the Print Edition and enables availability of information on previous years and will serve as a reference source.
Now more streamlined and focused than ever before, the 6th edition of CT and MRI of the Whole Body is a definitive reference that provides you with an enhanced understanding of advances in CT and MR imaging, delivered by a new team of international associate editors. Perfect for radiologists who need a comprehensive reference while working on difficult cases, it presents a complete yet concise overview of imaging applications, findings, and interpretation in every anatomic area. The new edition of this classic reference — released in its 40th year in print — is a must-have resource, now brought fully up to date for today’s radiology practice.
