This volume contains the proceedings of the CRM Workshop on Invariant Subspaces of the Shift Operator, held August 26-30, 2013, at the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques, Université de Montréal, Montréal, Quebec, Canada. The main theme of this volume is the invariant subspaces of the shift operator (or its adjoint) on certain function spaces, in particular, the Hardy space, Dirichlet space, and de Branges-Rovnyak spaces. Proceedings：10th Taiwan─Philippines Symposium on Analysis
This volume is a special issue which is devoted to selected papers from the 10th Taiwan-Philippines Symposium on Analysis (10th TPSOA) held on 31/March–3/April 2014 at the Garden Villa Hotel, Kaohsiung city, Taiwan and organized mainly by National University of Kaohsiung. The article on page 311 has listed the bilateral participants of Taiwan and the Philippines for the 10 symposiums. The symposiums have brought together mathematicians from the Philippines and Taiwan to share their results and current research activities.
Function Spaces
This book consists of contributions by the participants of the Fifth Conference on Function Spaces, held at Southern Illinois University in May of 2006. The papers cover a broad range of topics, including spaces and algebras of analytic functions of one and of many variables (and operators on such spaces), $L{p $-spaces, spaces of Banach-valued functions, isometries of function spaces, geometry of Banach spaces, and other related subjects. The goal of the conference was to bring together mathematicians interested in various problems related to function spaces and to facilitate the exchange of ideas between people working on similar problems. Hence, the majority of papers in this book are accessible to non-experts. Some articles contain expositions of known results and discuss open problems, others contain new results.
Proceedings of the International Conference on Algebra 2010
This volume is an outcome of the International Conference on Algebra in celebration of the 70th birthday of Professor Shum Kar-Ping which was held in Gadjah Mada University on 7?10 October 2010. As a consequence of the wide coverage of his research interest and work, it presents 54 research papers, all original and referred, describing the latest research and development, and addressing a variety of issues and methods in semigroups, groups, rings and modules, lattices and Hopf Algebra. The book also provides five well-written expository survey articles which feature the structure of finite groups by A Ballester-Bolinches, R Esteban-Romero, and Yangming Li; new results of Grbner-Shirshov basis by L A Bokut, Yuqun Chen, and K P Shum; polygroups and their properties by B Davvaz; main results on abstract characterizations of algebras of n-place functions obtained in the last 40 years by Wieslaw A Dudek and Valentin S Trokhimenko; Inverse semigroups and their generalizations by X M Ren and K P Shum. Recent work on cones of metrics and combinatorics done by M M Deza et al. is included.
Infinite Products of Operators and Their Applications
This volume contains the proceedings of the workshop on Infinite Products of Operators and Their Applications, held from May 21-24, 2012, at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. The papers cover many different topics regarding infinite products of operators and their applications: projection methods for solving feasibility and best approximation problems, arbitrarily slow convergence of sequences of linear operators, monotone operators, proximal point algorithms for finding zeros of maximal monotone operators in the presence of computational errors, the Pascoletti-Serafini problem, remetrization for infinite families of mappings, Poisson's equation for mean ergodic operators, vector-valued metrics in fixed point theory, contractivity of infinite products and mean convergence theorems for generalized nonspreading mappings. Global Well-posedness of Nonlinear Parabolic-Hyperbolic Coupled Systems
This book presents recent results on nonlinear parabolic-hyperbolic coupled systems such as the compressible Navier-Stokes equations, and liquid crystal system. It summarizes recently published research by the authors and their collaborators, but also includes new and unpublished material. All models under consideration are built on compressible equations and liquid crystal systems. This type of partial differential equations arises not only in many fields of mathematics, but also in other branches of science such as physics, fluid dynamics and material science.
