Atlas of Cryosurgery
This atlas presents the fundamental aspects of modern cryosurgery. In the case of cancer patients it shows the discipline's advantages when compared to conventional surgical approaches. The text features definitions of the most frequently used terms, short descriptions of the historical and scientific background of cryosurgery, and an outline of cryosurgical equipment and techniques. Still further, the text covers the whole spectrum of experimental and clinical cryosurgery and the results of cryosurgical treatment of tumours in, for example, the liver, lung, and brain. Over 500 illustrations, mostly in colour, demonstrate the cryosurgical approach.
Modern Cryosurgery for Cancer
Cryosurgery is a surgical technique that employs freezing to destroy undesirable tissue. From as early as 3500 BC, there is evidence for the use of cold in medicine for the treatment of infected wounds of the chest, fracture of the skull and various injuries. However, the history of OC modernOCO cryosurgery is relatively short and is closely intertwined with the development in low temperature physics, engineering, and instrumentation during the last century. From the early 21st century, advanced helium-based cryosurgery has been applied worldwide. More than ten thousand patients with malignant and benign tumors have received cryosurgery. It is specially noted that in most cases cryosurgery, as a mini-invasive ablation technique, was performed with percutaneous approach under guidance of CT or ultrasound. Cryosurgery is now one of the more popular techniques in China, with nearly 6000 cases of tumors receiving cryosurgery in the author''s institution alone. This book summarizes the experimental and clinical experience and practice of cryosurgery, and describes the basics of cryosurgery and its use in the treatment of various tumors.

A Surgeon's Universe
The book A Surgeon's Universe is composed of a unique form intermediate between encyclopaedia, memoirs, medicine and documented reportage. It encompasses data about the Universe, geography of the Earth and Europe as applied to their history, as well as to the history of Ukraine, including the fate of the Ukrainian (Rus') Peremyshl (in Polish - Przemysl) Principality (UPP) from antiquity, that is [id est (i.e.)] approximately 500 thousand years before Christ (BC), through the year of 2010. On the background of historical events are described the achievements of Ukrainians in the domains of culture, science, medicine and sport. Also, the author includes numerous clinical observations, the contribution of others and his own to general surgery, anesthesiology, thoracic and cardiovascular vascular surgery (TCVS). The book contains 1757 p., 2352 figures (fig.), each with subtitle in Ukrainian and English and I-XX tabl., is written in Ukrainian, with some parts in English, Russian, German and Polish.
Extravasation of Cytotoxic Agents
Extravasation of cytotoxic drugs can lead to serious complications during tumour therapy. This volume is intended as an aid to assess the situation quickly and conclusively, should this emergency occur. The substance-specific section of the book provides detailed instructions on how to deal with 49 cytotoxic agents so that targeted measures can be started at once. The general section provides comprehensive information on prevention, general measures to be taken in case of extravasation, specific antidotes, and documentation. The book is the outcome of a consensus of an interdisciplinary working group that has collected and systematically reviewed all published literature on the topic.
