Perdarahan uterus abnormal (PUA) adalah kumpulan gejala yang merupakan alasan utama perempuan usia reproduksi untuk berkunjung ke poli perawatan ginekologi. Hingga 10 tahun yang lalu, kumpulan gejala ini didefinisikan dengan terminologi yang membingungkan dan tidak ada klasifikasi logis dari penyebab yang mendasari. Hampir semua gangguan haid dikategorikan agak samar sebagai menoragia. Komite Gangguan Haid dari The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) telah merekomendasikan penggunaan terminologi baru (Sistem FIGO) untuk klasifikasi rinci PALM-COEIN yaitu ada sembilan kategori utama yang disusun menurut akronim PALM-COEIN: polip: adenomiosis; leiomioma; keganasan dan hiperplasia; koagulopati; disfungsi ovulasi; endometrium iatrogenik; dan belum diklasifikasikan. Buku perdarahan uterus abnormal (PUA) ini membahas gejala klinis, penegakkan diagnosis dan tata laksana berdasarkan penyebabnya disertai dengan bukti yang dikumpulkan dari referensi terbaru.
