In the near future, many of the world's citizens are kept under close surveillance by government authorities. In London, Laurette, a rebellious teenager, has gone missing after taking part in an attack on a government data center. Adil, her brother, has joined the police to try to find her, but is growing suspicious of his boss, unsure whose side he's really on. At the same time, Laurette has joined the ranks of an even more covert organization determined to dismantle the surveillance state. The second installment of a science-fiction thriller where everyone is being watched, and no one is who they seem.
In a small village in Paraguay, Diego dreams of giving music lessons to the children he sees each day. The only problem: there aren't enough instruments to go around. But when he and Nicolas, a carpenter, look to a nearby landfill, they see instruments in the making. Soon, a paint can, a wooden plank, and a faucet knob become the start of a violin—and their recycled instruments give the kids in town new ways to express themselves. Inspired by the true story of La Orquesta de Instrumentos Reciclados de Cateura, Hua Lin Xie's first graphic novel is a big-hearted ode to the power of music.
The era of privacy is over. With the proliferation of cameras, social networks, and automated surveillance systems, everyone is being watched at all times and people have begun to give in to the surveillance state. Well, almost everyone... Laurette is a young, rebellious teenager in London plotting an attack on a major government data center with a group of activists. But when the plan goes wrong, Laurette disappears, kidnapped by unknown agents. Dissatisfied with the police's lack of progress, Adil, Laurette's brother, decides to investigate on his own. A science-fiction story that explores a future not too far from our own, tackling the issue of surveillance from both sides of the law.
