This book is a collection of the best papers presented at the 2nd International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO). ICINCO brought together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the application of informatics to Control, Automation and Robotics. The research papers focused on real world applications, covering three main themes: Intelligent Control Systems, Optimization, Robotics and Automation and Signal Processing, Systems Modeling and Control.
Dynamic Reconfiguration
Dynamic Reconfiguration: Architectures and Algorithms offers a comprehensive treatment of dynamically reconfigurable computer architectures and algorithms for them. The coverage is broad starting from fundamental algorithmic techniques, ranging across algorithms for a wide array of problems and applications, to simulations between models. The presentation employs a single reconfigurable model (the reconfigurable mesh) for most algorithms, to enable the reader to distill key ideas without the cumbersome details of a myriad of models. In addition to algorithms, the book discusses topics that provide a better understanding of dynamic reconfiguration such as scalability and computational power, and more recent advances such as optical models, run-time reconfiguration (on FPGA and related platforms), and implementing dynamic reconfiguration. The book, featuring many examples and a large set of exercises, is an excellent textbook or reference for a graduate course. It is also a useful reference to researchers and system developers in the area.
Systemics of Emergence
Within the General Systems Theory (GST) approach, it is possible to focus on "emergent" systemic properties (typically occurring in open, adaptive, anticipatory and chaotic systems), by stressing their specificity and their lack of reducibility into further components. In other words, emergence underlies the processes allowing the establishing of systemic properties. Organizational Innovation and Change
This book explores a range of critical issues and emerging topics relevant to the linkages between information technologies and organizational systems. It encourages debate and opens up new avenues of inquiry in the fields of Information Systems, organization and management studies by investigating selected themes of growing research interest from multiple disciplinary perspectives such as organizational innovation and impact, information technology, innovation transfer, and knowledge management. Hierarchical Scheduling in Parallel and Cluster Systems
