Descendants of Patrick O'grady and Mary Steele 1757-2005

This book is a synopsis of many years of research in an eff ort to add a human face and personality to the data culled from various sources of vital records. As the family tree unfurls, it reveals the vivid contrasts between its many branches. It exposes the hardships and devastating eff ects of alcoholism that followed several branches, as well as the prestige and prosperity that were perpetuated in others. However, each individual is equally important to the color and texture of the fi ne tapestry created by this OGrady family history.

This book is about the lonely, the lost, and what it is like to live in the suffocating constraints of mental illness. I share stories of my own personal experiences, in hopes that you find comfort, even if only through relation. I have learnt throughout my path of healing and spirituality; we are not meant to hold onto our pain. Great medicine is held in the speaking of truth and the sharing of stories. I am honored to now be apart of your story. This book is from me to you, to remind you that you are not alone, you are never alone and wherever you are, I am right there beside you. It's getting late and you've been gone for far too long, come on child, it's time to go back home

Patrick O'Grady shows little mercy in this amusing poke at his fellow cyclists. One hundred of his best cartoons and some of his zippiest columns sling humorous arrows at road cyclists, weekend warriors, and cyclo-cross fanatics. Targeting everyone from the ""old guys who get fat in winter"" to his ""mud stud"" -- the bike shop mechanic who can turn a bicycle into a guided missile -- O'Grady's acerbic wit is unsurpassed.

At the heart of this history was the figure of Cuculain, the great mythic hero who would inspire a generation of writers and revolutionaries, from W. B. Yeats and Lady Augusta Gregory to Patrick Pearse. Despite the profound influence O’Grady’s writings had on literary and political culture in Ireland, they are not as well known as they should be, particularly in view of the increasingly global interest in Irish culture.
