Die Gesamtdarstellung, in der neben den verschiedenen Wirkungsbereichen der Herzoginnen auch ihre transregionalen Beziehungen dargelegt werden, leistet damit einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte von Fürstinnen in der Vormoderne.
