Notions of Physics in Natural Philosophy
The European Physical Society Conference “Notions of Physics in Natural Philosophy” was held in 23-25 September 2007 in Athens. It was organized by the Program of History and Philosophy of Science of the Institute for Neohellenic Research / National Hellenic Research Foundation and the Laboratory of Science Education, Epistemology and Educational Technology of the University of Athens. The Conference was supported by the History of Physics Committee of the European Physical Society and the History of Physics Group of Institute of Physics (England). The latter was represented by Mr. Malcolm Cooper, editor of the Newsletter of the Group who kindly gave as a brief description of the activities of the Group. The main themes of the Conference were: The emergence of notions of physics in ancient philosophy The concept of physical laws in Philosophy of Nature during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance The mathematization of Natural Philosophy and the emergence of classical sciences. We hope that the present volume of the Proceedings will be a useful tool for those interested on the subject.

Acta Conventus Neo-Latini Monasteriensis
Since 1971, the International Congress for Neo-Latin Studies has been organised every three years in various cities in Europe and North America. In August 2012, Münster in Germany was the venue of the fifteenth Neo-Latin conference, held by the International Association for Neo-Latin Studies. The proceedings of the Münster conference have been collected in this volume under the motto „ Litterae neolatinae, sedes et quasi domicilia rerum religiosarum et politicarum – Religion and Politics in Neo-Latin Literature”. Forty-five individual and five plenary papers spanning the period from the Renaissance to the present offer a variety of themes covering a range of genres such as history, literature, philology, art history, and religion. The contributions will be of relevance not only for scholarly readers, but also for an interested non-professional audience.

Boltzmann's Legacy
Ludwig Eduard Boltzmann (1844-1906) was an Austrian physicist famous for his founding contributions in the fields of statistical mechanics and statistical thermodynamics. He was one of the most important advocates for atomic theory when that scientific model was still highly controversial. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death in Duino, the International Symposium ``Boltzmann's Legacy'' was held at the Erwin Schrodinger International Institute for Mathematical Physics in June 2006. This text covers a broad spectrum of topics ranging from equilibrium statistical and nonequilibrium statistical physics, ergodic theory and chaos to basic questions of biology and historical accounts of Boltzmann's work. Besides the lectures presented at the symposium the volume also contains contributions specially written for this occasion. The articles give a broad overview of Boltzmann's legacy to the sciences from the standpoint of some of today's leading scholars in the field. The book addresses students and researchers in mathematics, physics, and the history of science.
