Peter Rhea Jones has spent the majority of his career studying and teaching the parables. Studying the Parables of Jesus is a primer on the historical and -literary approaches to biblical study. It informs and inspires in dialogue with contemporary methods and contemporary meanings. It provides an introduction to the methods of interpretation of the parables as well as an opening chapter on the recent history of interpretation. The chapters of exegesis approach a select group of parables for a more intensive analysis. While reserving much of the technical details for the endnotes, the text includes -discussion of critical issues and alternative opinions. By this book, I tried to find answers to the questions which don't appear directly in the Gospels. In fact, erothetics is the way of finding the question from the given answer. We have the Gospels, where the writers presented to us what Jesus did. But what if there where some questions, which were common for that time, and un-common for our time-reality? Then was the sermons, when I was astonished by the ministers which proclaimed that Jesus began story-telling, because He didn't knew what to say to the listeners. Women Deacons and Deaconesses
Divided opinion on the topic of this book has caused controversy in Baptist history and life. Most Baptist individuals and churches have strongly opposed women deacons. Some Baptist associations have even disfellowshipped churches that have approved women deacons. And women in general have been suppressed by many recent actions of the Southern Baptist Convention, thereby affecting women deacons. However, thousands of Baptist churches include women in their deacon bodies and find that they make invaluable contributions.
