Jaká byla zahraniční politika České republiky v období 2007-2009 a proč? What was the Czech foreign policy like during the years 2007–2009 and why?
Cryptozoology -- the study of hidden animals -- is gaining attention thanks to a startling number of zoological discoveries. Karl P.N. Shuker has collected evidence of these mysterious, somewhat mythical creatures in THE BEASTS THAT HIDE FROM MAN. Shuker provides entertaining, solidly researched tales about extraordinary animals. Shuker also provides a supplement to Bernard Heuvelmans's checklist of cryptozoological animals, which contains updated information on unknown creatures.
This book explores China’s policy towards the European Union, using the case study of four member states from Central Europe: Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Gabriela Pleschová documents China’s strategic approach to engaging with these countries bilaterally and multilaterally, through intensified diplomatic and soft-power campaigns, upgrading them to strategic partners, offering loans and promising investments.
The concept of national interest belongs among the most widely used and abused concepts in the foreign policy debate. This volume illustrates how the term can be used as a meaningful analytical tool. It introduces three criteria (relevance, domestic consensus, and external acceptance) which serve to identify national interest. The authors apply these criteria to Czech foreign policy making and provide some interesting findings concerning a country's possibilities to define and pursue its national interest. Since the authors use four different methodologies (case studies, discourse analysis, grounded theory, and ethnography), the volume also shows the variety of possible ways to analyse national interests.
