Popják György (1914-1998) orvos-biológus Magyarországon született. Messzire vetődött született hazájától. A tudományos életbe már George Popjak néven került. Nemzetközi hírű tudós, tudományos akadémiák sorának tagja, kétszázharminc szakcikk publikálója, a UCLA professzora.
