Battles and Borders. Perspectives on Cultural Transmission and Literature in Minor Language Areas is about literature on the fringes of Europe. The authors all discuss the often unique ways in which literary history and cultural transfer function in peripheral and central regions against the background of shifting national borders in the last two centuries. Special attention is paid to minority and migrant groups in Northwest Europe. The present volume aims to prompt a reconsideration of the concepts of minority' and migrant' cultures and literatures in the past and the present day. En bibliografi hebben verschillende cultuurbemiddelaars die vertalingen verzorgen van Noorse literatuur in het Nederlands spontaan suggesties en aanvullingen doorgegeven. De respons geeft mij het vertrouwen dat de eerste druk van deze bibliografie een handig werkinstrument is voor al wie met Noorse literatuur begaan is. De bibliografie uit 2013 vormt dan ook een basis voor een verdere studie waarbij een ruimer beeld wordt verkregen van de wijze waarop Noorse literatuur onder de aandacht werd gebracht in tijdschriften, week- en maan...
Noorse auteurs in Nederlandse vertaling 1741-2012
Noorse auteurs in Nederlandse vertaling 1741-2012 geeft een overzicht van werken van Noorse auteurs in het Nederlands. Deze omvangrijke bibliografie laat zien dat niet alleen Henrik Ibsen, Karl Ove Knausgård en Sigrid Undset werden vertaald, maar dat vele auteurs het Nederlandstalig publiek wisten te bereiken. De bibliografie omvat fictie en nonfictie en illustreert dat Noorse auteurs in vele genres vertegenwoordigd zijn: romans, misdaadliteratuur, jeugdliteratuur, toneelstukken en poëzie. Uit de vertaalde non-fictie blijkt dat Noorse auteurs binnen heel uiteenlopende vakgebieden een bijzondere bijdrage hebben geleverd, die zich uitstrekt van politiek en architectuur tot psychologie, geschiedenis en filosofie. De bibliografie bevat ruim 400 Noorse auteurs en meer dan 1500 werken en schenkt ook aandacht aan de persoon die het oorspronkelijke werk heeft vertaald. De bibliografie wordt uitgebracht in de reeks 'Studies on Cultural Transfer & Transmission' die onder andere in het teken van de cultuurbemiddelaar staat. De vertalers/vertaalsters zijn de culturele bemiddelaars die het werk en gedachtegoed van de auteurs aan het Nederlandstalige publiek overdragen.
