Poems are not a mere collection of words, it's the soul of the writer. "Wanderers of the Words' World", is a collection of poems by numerous authors across the nation, pulled together under a single cover by JEC Publication. Part of what makes this collection of poems special is that the reader is never tied to or bogged down by one particular element or theme but rather is allowed to explore different beauty in completely different poems. This anthology is a blend of two compilers' imagination, "Fruits of Temptation" and "Lafzon ke Musafir", both of which celebrated the motion and emotion of language, not only through the gathering and replication of the included poems, but the interviews that amplify the poems’ shouts, whispers, and echoes.
As collective violence erupts in many regions throughout the world, we often hear media reports that link the outbreaks to age-old ethnic or religious hostilities, thereby freeing the state, its agents, and its political elites from responsibility. Paul Brass encourages us to look more closely at the issues of violence, ethnicity, and the state by focusing on specific instances of violence in their local contexts and questioning the prevailing interpretations of them. Postmodernism is a notoriously elusive concept and still the object of critical debates among scholars across a range of different disciplines. In literature, in particular, these debates are complicated by “postmodern” styles emanating from outside the concept’s Western origins. By analyzing contemporary Hindi novels, and drawing on both Western and Hindi literary criticism, "Postmodern Traces and Recent Hindi Novels" aims to understand some of the manifestations of postmodernism in contemporary Hindi fiction, including ways the latter might challenge the traditional parameters of postmodern literature. This book is essential reading for scholars and students specializing in South Asian studies and both postcolonial and comparative literature. It will also interest the general reader curious to know more about one of the less explored areas of world literature.
Śaṅkara is well known for his Advaitika philosophy, expounded through his commentaries on the Brahma-sūtra, Upaniṣads and the Bhagavadgītā. However, his independent works on Tāntrika philosophy are not commonly acknowledged and appreciated. This book seeks to analyze and understand the metaphysical and conceptual framework and nuances of his Tāntrika philosophy, especially with reference to his Saundarya-laharī. Apart from this, it also examines the compatibility of this Tāntrika framework with the Advaitika framework, as elaborated by Śaṅkara and Gauḍapāda. The course of this enunciation and examination also presents a lucid discussion of the Śrī-vidyā tradition of Tantra, as well as the significance of devotion (bhakti) in Śaṅkara's philosophy. It is a must read for understanding Śaṅkara's philosophy holistically.
