Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) is responsible for all federal matters pertaining to agriculture and products derived from agriculture, which includes supporting agricultural production, processing, and trade. The focus of this fourth sustainable development strategy of the AAFC is to enhance the integration of the three pillars of sustainable development: economic, environmental, and social. Through various initiatives, AAFC strives to strengthen linkages between the three pillars to ensure a seamless approach to sustainable development. The fourth SDS highlights the ongoing implementation of the Agricultural Policy Framework and illustrates how the Department integrates sustainable development into decision-making. The SDS also helps lay the groundwork for the next generation of agricultural policies and programs. The appendix includes a summary of the Department's progress on the third sustainable development strategy.--Includes text from document.
