Modeling and Using Context
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 8th International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Modeling and Using Context, CONTEXT 2013, held in Annecy, France, in October/November 2013. The 23 full papers and 9 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. In addition the book contains two keynote speeches and 9 poster papers. They cover cutting-edge results from the wide range of disciplines concerned with context, including: Cognitive Sciences (Linguistics, Psychology, Computer Science, Neuroscience), and computer science (artificial intelligence, logics, ubiquitous and pervasive computing, context-awareness systems), and the Social Sciences and Organizational Sciences, as well as the Humanities and all application areas, including Medicine and Law.
Progress in Artificial Intelligence
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence, EPIA 2003, held in Beja, Portugal in December 2003. The 29 revised full papers and 20 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 119 submissions. In accordance with the five constituting workshops, the papers are organized in topical sections on artificial life and evolutionary algorithms, constraint and logic programming systems, extraction of knowledge from databases, multi-agent systems and AI for the Internet, and natural language processing and text retrieval.
Artificial Intelligence in Health
This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the First International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Health, AIH 2018, in Stockholm, Sweden, in July 2018. This workshop consolidated the workshops CARE, KRH4C and AI4HC into a single event. The 18 revised full papers included in this volume were carefully selected from the 26 papers accepted for presentation out of 42 initial submissions. The papers present AI technologies with medical applications and are organized in three tracks: agents in healthcare; data science and decision systems in medicine; and knowledge management in healthcare.

The two-volume set LNAI 13073 and 13074 constitutes the proceedings of the 10th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems, BRACIS 2021, held in São Paolo, Brazil, in November-December 2021. Discourse Processing here is framed as marking up a text with structural descriptions on several levels, which can serve to support many language-processing or text-mining tasks. We first explore some ways of assigning structure on the document level: the logical document structure as determined by the layout of the text, its genre-specific content structure, and its breakdown into topical segments. Then the focus moves to phenomena of local coherence. We introduce the problem of coreference and look at methods for building chains of coreferring entities in the text.
