A History of Dartmouth Bible Church
This history of one local church demonstrates the prayerful determination of its membership over five decades to craft a meaningful place of ministry in a spiritually challenging community which dates to the Mayflower Pilgrims. These members purposed to honor God by growing in their relationship with Him and one another through a balanced focus on worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism. Throughout these years, ups and downs were plentiful, but Gods faithfulness and His joy were always loved by His servants at Dartmouth Bible Church. This history candidly captures those stories and turns the reader back to the Lord with thanksgiving for His loving presence among His people. Includes several appendices of historical data.
Wounded Faith
Contributors to this book seek to address aspects of spiritual abuse: its impact on relationships, self-identity, and creativity; spiritual perspectives about it; and how spiritual abuse relates to Scripture, and to church matters and leaders, among other things. The book explores both anecdotal themes and some more academic therapies, with the intention of facilitating healing. More than simply writing a chapter or two, the writers have brought this subject to us out of their own unique experiences. No theological presuppositions were imposed upon them. The aim of this book is for readers to glean, from the underlying stories and experiences of each contributor, what they can use for healing and apply in their own circumstances to help prevent further spiritual abuse.
