Key Indicators of the Labour Market (KILM), 2000-2001
Produced by the International Labour Office, this CD-ROM provides a set of comprehensive and comparable data on the world's labour markets. It presents 20 key indicators which relate to: the labour force; employment characteristics, such as hours of work, status and sector; measures of unemployment and underemployment; educational attainment and illiteracy; wage and labour costs; productivity; labour market flows; gender issues; and poverty and income distribution. Geographical coverage varies by indicator. The CD-ROM contains data for each year from 1980 onwards, with estimates for the year 2000 available for many economies whilst for others the most recent available data is for 1999. It also contains the actual numerators and denominators used to calculate the indicators. The text is written in English, French, Spanish and Russian.

Infrared Spectroscopy
Delving into Infrared Spectroscopy: Principles, Advances and Applications, and with basic knowledge of IR spectroscopy, will provide the reader with a synopsis of fundamentals and groundbreaking advances in the field. Readers will see a variety of MIR applications and difficulties encountered, especially in an industrial environment. Competency in FT-IR spectroscopy in biomedical research and early-stage diagnosis of obesity is shown. Challenges associated with VIS-NIR applications are shown through application of the technique in assessing quality parameters of fruits. Moreover, IR spectroscopic studies of radiation-stimulated processes, and the influence of using IR in developing an ideal catalyst and hence an efficient catalysis process, are discussed. Neoliberalism and Class Conflict in Latin America
The 1980s in Latin America saw the implementation of a sweeping programme of economic reforms, either imposed as a condition for securing new loans or to embrace the neoliberal doctrine of structural adjustment, the ideology of a newly formed transnational capitalist class. However, the structural adjustment programme also generated widespread resistance, especially from within the popular sector of civil society. This book analyses both the politics of the adjustment process and the political dynamics of this resistance in Latin America.
Capitalism, Class and Revolution in Peru, 1980-2016
In an analysis of political, economic, and social development in Peru in the years between 1980 and 2016, this book explores the failure of the socialist Left to realize its project of revolutionary social transformation. Based on extensive interviews with leading cadres in the struggle for revolutionary change and a profound review of documents from the principal socialist organizations of the 1980s and 1990s, the volume reveals that the socialist Left did not fully comprehend the deep political and social implications of changes to the country’s class structures. As such, the Left failed to develop and implement adequate strategic and tactical responses to the processes that eroded its political and social bases in the 1980s and 1990s, ultimately leading to its loss of social and political power. Lust concludes that the continued political and organizational agony of the Peruvian socialist Left and the hegemony of neoliberalism in society is a product of the dialectical interplay between the objective and subjective conditions that determine Peruvian capitalist development.
