This volume provides primary care physicians with the practical knowledge needed to approach patients with gynecologic disorders and special situations. Topics include preparing for pregnancy, obstetric monitoring, hypertension, renal disease, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, rheumatic disorders, cancer, nervous system disorders and diseases of the skin. Chapters generally begin with a table of normal values for diagnostic tests that reflect the physiologic changes of pregnancy and conclude with a drug table for use in a clinical context when one of the medications is indicated.
