Menurut Abu Ahmadi (1991) dalam (Abdul Khobir, 2009) permainan merupakan sebuah perbuatan yang mengandung keasyikan yang dilakukan atas kehendak sendiri dan bebas tanpa paksaan yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh kesenangan pada waktu memainkan permainan tersebut. Permainan cukup sangat penting bagi perkembangan jiwa anak. Oleh sebab itu, perlu kiranya kita memberikan kesempatan dan sarana bagi anak-anak didalam kegiatan permainannya.
