The biennial Congress of the Italian Society of Oral Pathology and Medicine (SIPMO) is an International meeting dedicated to the growing diagnostic challenges in the oral pathology and medicine field. The III International and XV National edition will be a chance to discuss clinical conditions which are unusual, rare, or difficult to define. Many consolidated national and international research groups will be involved in the debate and discussion through special guest lecturers, academic dissertations, single clinical case presentations, posters, and degree thesis discussions. The SIPMO Congress took place from the 17th to the 19th of October 2019 in Bari (Italy), and the enclosed copy of Proceedings is a non-exhaustive collection of abstracts from the SIPMO 2019 contributions.
This three volume set LNAI 9244, 9245, and 9246 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Intelligent Robotics and Applications, ICIRA 2015, held in Portsmouth, UK, in August 2015. The 60 papers included in the first volume are organized in topical sections on analysis and control for complex systems; marine vehicles and oceanic engineering; drives and actuators’ modeling; biomechatronics in bionic dexterous hand; robot actuators and sensors; intelligent visual systems; estimation and identification; and adaptive control system.
Computer-Aided Control Systems Design: Practical Applications Using MATLAB® and Simulink® supplies a solid foundation in applied control to help you bridge the gap between control theory and its real-world applications. Working from basic principles, the book delves into control systems design through the practical examples of the ALSTOM gasifier system in power stations and underwater robotic vehicles in the marine industry. It also shows how powerful software such as MATLAB® and Simulink® can aid in control systems design. Make Control Engineering Come Alive with Computer-Aided Software Emphasizing key aspects of the design process, the book covers the dynamic modeling, control structu...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Conference on Cognitive Systems and Signal Processing, ICCSIP2016, held in Beijing, China, in December 2016. The 59 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 171 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on Control and Decision; Image and Video; Machine Learning; Robotics; Cognitive System; Cognitive Signal Processing.
Dynamics and Control of Mechanical Systems in Offshore Engineering is a comprehensive treatment of marine mechanical systems (MMS) involved in processes of great importance such as oil drilling and mineral recovery. Ranging from nonlinear dynamic modeling and stability analysis of flexible riser systems, through advanced control design for an installation system with a single rigid payload attached by thrusters, to robust adaptive control for mooring systems, it is an authoritative reference on the dynamics and control of MMS. Readers will gain not only a complete picture of MMS at the system level, but also a better understanding of the technical considerations involved and solutions to pro...
Naturally available nanomaterials or those synthesized from natural resources become “new favorite” of material world due to their advantages of low cost, safety and environmental friendliness. They are honored as future “green materials” and widely used in fabricating various functional materials. Naturally available materials have been playing an increasingly important role in many fields such as environmental remediation, separation, catalysis, and polymer composites. This book collects latest research results on the new composites for environmental application, focusing on the study of fabricating functional composites using natural clay minerals. Naturally available materials or...
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of 5 workshops, held at the 10th International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems, AAMAS 2011, in Taipei, Taiwan, May 2-6, 2011. The 37 revised full papers presented together with 1 invited paper were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The papers are organized in sections on the workshops Agent-Based Modeling for Policy Engineering (AMPLE), Agent-Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE), Autonomous Robots and Multirobot Systems (ARMS), Data Oriented Constructive Mining and Multi-Agent Simulation, Massively Multi-Agent Systems: Models, Methods and Tools (DOCM3AS), and Infrastructures and Tools for Multiagent Systems (ITMAS).
Inspired by the community behaviors of animals and humans, cooperative control has been intensively studied by numerous researchers in recent years. Cooperative control aims to build a network system collectively driven by a global objective function in a distributed or centralized communication network and shows great application potential in a wide domain. From the perspective of cybernetics in network system cooperation, one of the main tasks is to design the formation control scheme for multiple intelligent unmanned systems, facilitating the achievements of hazardous missions – e.g., deep space exploration, cooperative military operation, and collaborative transportation. Various chall...
Mobile manipulators combine the advantages of mobile platforms and robotic arms, extending their operational range and functionality to large spaces and remote, demanding, and/or dangerous environments. They also bring complexity and difficulty in dynamic modeling and control system design.
Water Security: Big Data-Driven Risk Identification, Assessment and Control of Emerging Contaminants contains the latest information on big data-driven risk detection and analysis, risk assessment and environmental health effect, intelligent risk control technologies, and global control strategy of emerging contaminants. First, this book highlights advances and challenges throughout the detection of emerging chemical contaminants (e.g., antimicrobials, microplastics) by sensors or mass spectrometry, as well as emerging biological contaminant (e.g., ARGs, pathogens) by a combination of next- and third-generation sequencing technologies in aquatic environment. Second, it discusses in depth the...
