Marriages of Wilkes County, North Carolina, 1778-1868
This work contains abstracts of all marriage bonds issued in Wilkes County shortly after it was erected from Surry County, to 1868. The 5,000 marriage records abstracted here refer in total to some 15,000 persons, including bondsmen. As is the convention, the data are arranged throughout in alphabetical order by the surname of the groom, and each entry contains the name of the bride, the date of the bond, and the name of the bondsman.
Jeremiah and Alexander Clark of North Carolina, and Related Families
Chiefly a record of the descendants of brothers Alexander Clarke and Jeremiah Clark. Alexander was born ca. 1725 and died about 1782. He married Joannah May, who was born in 1740 and died after 1838. Jeremiah was born ca. 1739 and died ca. 1780. He married Nancy Ann, who was born ca. 1743 and died 8 Nov 1836. Alexander and Joannah were the parents of nine children. Jeremiah and Nancy were the parents of seven children. Descendants of these men lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, and elsewhere.
