Natural Element Method for the Simulation of Structures and Processes
Computational mechanics is the discipline concerned with the use of computational methods to study phenomena governed by the principles of mechanics. Before the emergence of computational science (also called scientific computing) as a "third way" besides theoretical and experimental sciences, computational mechanics was widely considered to be a sub-discipline of applied mechanics. It is now considered to be a sub-discipline within computational science. This book presents a recent state of the art on the foundations and applications of the meshless natural element method in computational mechanics, including structural mechanics and material forming processes involving solids and Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids.

Il se caractérise par une étude poussée des propriétés mécaniques des matériaux (matériaux ductiles, matériaux raides, matières plastiques, béton à haute résistance, tenue à la fatigue), par une introduction systématique, dès le début du livre, des phénomènes non élastiques (plastiques, visqueux) et par le recours à la doctrine semi-probabiliste de la sécurité, qui représente un perfectionnement considérable de la notion classique du coefficient de sécurité, notamment pour le calcul des pièces en acier soumises au flambement.
Experimental Analysis of Nano and Engineering Materials and Structures
This volume contains two-page abstracts of the 482 papers presented at the latest conference on the subject, in Alexandroupolis, Greece. The accompanying CD contains the full length papers. The abstracts of the fifteen plenary lectures are included at the beginning of the book. The remaining 467 abstracts are arranged in 23 tracks and 28 special symposia/sessions with 225 and 242 abstracts, respectively. The papers of the tracks have been contributed from open call, while the papers of the symposia/sessions have been solicited by the respective organizers.
