External Democracy Promotion and Diversity Among International Agencies
The book offers new insight into the diversity of democracy promotion. It takes up the puzzle of mixed results for international agencies in external democracy promotion despite the global goal of democracy and the attempt to shape a common policy emphasized in various international agreements. On the background of backlashes and the search for new answers; it analyzes how the UNDP and the EC promoted democracy in Rwanda from 2003 until 2013 with a selective outlook until today. As a result, it outlines how democracy strategies differ. Furthermore, it develops a new concept of variances which can be applied for other international organizations and agencies as well as in other recipient states.

Mageza-Barthel provides a context sensitive analysis of how Rwanda's women's movement used the United Nations (UN) gender norms in its efforts to insert gender-specific demands in the post-genocide period. Nature and Enactment of Tasks for Early English as a Foreign Language Teaching
This ethnographic case study is set within a collaborative research project in which teachers and researchers investigate early English as a Foreign Language (eEFL) tasks in theory and practice in German primary schools. Results are obtained through an interpretation of multiple sources within an interdiscursive, multi-perspectived research agenda. The results suggest that eEFL tasks can emerge during an interplay of four key teaching practices: doing school, providing space for learners to communicate, building a vocabulary and teaching the spoken language.
