Doch, was dann?

Volumes 26 and 27 are both concerned with reactions occurring at electrodes arising through the passage of current. They provide a comprehensive review of the study of electrode kinetics. The basic ideas and experimental methodology are presented in Volume 26 whilst Volume 27 deals with reactions at particular types of electrodes.Chapter 1 serves as an introduction to both volumes and is a survey of the fundamental principles of electrode kinetics. Chapter 2 deals with mass transport - how material gets to and from an electrode. Chapter 3 provides a review of linear sweep and cyclic voltammetry which constitutes an extensively used experimental technique in the field. Chapter 4 discusses a.c. and pulse methods which are a rich source of electrochemical information. Finally, chapter 5 discusses the use of electrodes in which there is forced convection, the so-called ``hydrodynamic electrodes''.
Electrochemisty at Metal and Semiconductor Electrodes covers the structure of the electrical double layer and charge transfer reactions across the electrode/electrolyte interface. The purpose of the book is to integrate modern electrochemistry and semiconductor physics, thereby, providing a quantitative basis for understanding electrochemistry at metal and semiconductor electrodes. Electrons and ions are the principal particles which play the main role in electrochemistry. This text, therefore, emphasizes the energy level concepts of electrons and ions rather than the phenomenological thermodynamic and kinetic concepts on which most of the classical electrochemistry texts are based. This rat...

Catalysis, the speeding up of a chemical reaction by a substance which itself does not react, is vital not only to the chemical process industry but also to life itself. The six volume Encyclopedia of Catalysis is the definitive A-to-Z reference work covering the most significant aspects of homogenous, heterogeneous, asymmetric, biomimetic, and biological catalysis. Available both on-line and in print, the state-of-the-art Encyclopedia encompasses the principles of catalysis; the scope of catalytic reactions; the preparation, characterization, and use of catalysts (including catalytic technology); the modeling of catalytic processes; and related reaction engineering techniques. The logical organization of this seminal work renders the text easily accessible to both process personnel and those involved in basic and applied research and development.
