Iconic Advantage

Modern business gurus all cry for the need to innovate, to disrupt, and to act like a startup. It’s hard to argue with that kind of thinking. It’s sexy and exciting. But it’s wrong. Too many businesses become enamored by shiny new objects and end up overlooking the value locked away in their existing products. Maybe your business is one of them. Iconic Advantage® is a different approach that allows companies to leverage what they already have to create lasting differentiation and deeper relationships with their customers. It generates disproportionate levels of profit and protects you against market fluctuations. Many of the world’s most successful brands have been using it for year...

Tse Yu's University

Tse Yu's peaceful college life is forever shattered when she is raped by a soldier who is later honored as a hero on the battlefield. Tse Yu's University takes place in the 1980s, when there was a defensive war on the southern border of China. After her rapist returns to the front, Tse Yu discovers she is pregnant. She and her roommate decide on a secret abortion, but then she hears the news from the front that the soldier who raped her made a heroic sacrifice in battle. Her love of life awakens Tse Yu's instincts as a mother, and she decides to drop out of school for a higher calling. From a modern perspective, the author completed the contemplation of a heroic era, and as a consequence, this tragic story shows irony. The novel first appeared in "Time Literary," was reprinted by "Selected Stories and Novella Monthly," and was made into the TV series "Flowers in May."

The Road to the Throne

Annotation The stories of the Chinese great emperors reflect the ancient Chinese philosophy, ideology, their wisdom and their ways of administration. Liu Bang is an outstanding example. Rising from a peasant background to become Emperor, he founded the Han Dynasty which lasted for about four hundred years and essentially laid the foundations of China as we know it. Liu Bang (256 BC?195 BC), posthumously called Emperor Gaozu, was a low-ranking functionary in an obscure corner of the realm when he caught the wave of the great uprisings against the Qin Dynasty. First as leader of a local contingent and then as general of larger and larger armies, he eventually overthrew the despotic Qin emperor...

Chinese Schools in Peninsular Malaysia

The history of modern Chinese schools in Peninsular Malaysia is a story of conflicts between Chinese domiciled there and different governments that happened or happen to rule the land. Before the days of the Pacific War, the British found the Chinese schools troublesome because of their pro-China political activities. They established measures to control them. When the Japanese ruled the Malay Peninsula, they closed down all the Chinese schools. After the Pacific War, for a decade, the British sought to convert the Chinese schools into English schools. The Chinese schools decoupled themselves from China and survived. A Malay-dominated government of independent Peninsular Malaysia allowed Chinese primary schools to continue, but finally changed many Chinese secondary schools into National Type Secondary Schools using Malay as the main medium of instruction. Those that remained independent, along with Chinese colleges, continued without government assistance. The Chinese community today continues to safeguard its educational institutions to ensure they survive.

"A three-foot-long blade wielded the power of the sword in the martial arts world. It is a blessing in disguise." "With so many beauties around, countless heroes have to bow in front of them." How many of the children of the martial arts world were buried in other villages, and how many heroes were unable to extricate themselves from their power and desire? It was the story of modern people traversing the ancient martial arts world, unwittingly seeking their own name, admitting themselves as masters, travelling the martial arts world, and pursuing martial arts.
