self knowing is not a method. It is constant watchfulness of ego activity. In the intensity of watchfulness we come to know the falsity of contents of mind and so in the intensity of watchfulness the contents evaporate. Then the mind is empty. This watchfulness is not against the mind but with watchfulness ego activity comes to a stand still and so we go beyond the ego and we penetrate the unknowable. We cannot penetrate the unknowable with the known. All methods belong to known and you cannot jump into unknown by clinging to known. A mind that is empty of known has the capacity to jump into the unknowable. Mind with contents is conditioned and so always in conflict. Unless we see the falsit...

Jesus, the son of man became son of god while still in the body. Like Rama Krishna He is not a learned man. So his sayings are quite easy to understand and straight forwardUnlike those of Adi Sankara, Buddha, Mahavira who are intellectuals apart from realization. Their language is rather poetic and so indirect. In Jesus teaching we seehumanness and divineness. He wants to take us from our ordinary existence to divineness in us which is inner most core of every human being. The approach of Jesus is love and compassion and his teachings reflect them. Obviously people misunderstood him and histeaching who preached non-violence through repentance and people indulged in wars evenin the name Chris...

Ramana Maharshi is an exponent on Self-enquiry. He has great devotion and gratitude for Arunachala Siva. He said the holy hill of Arunachala is nothing but solid mass of bliss of Siva. The devotees of Ramana Maharshi used to go for begging food in Tiruvannamalai town and they asked Bhagawan to write poems for singing while begging so that people will recognise them as Ramana Maharshi devotees. Conceding to their request Bhagawan started writing verses, considering him as bride to the bride groom Arunachala Siva in which out of love he accuses Arunachala Siva for not fulfilling his spiritual expectations. This type of accusing out of love is called Ninda Stuti (Praising through accusing) whic...

This is an original work. Our nature is Self. It need not be acquired. We have to find the blocks, degenerating factors that interfere with natural effulgence of Self.If such Self knowledge is not there human thinking and so action is limited and perverted. This is quite obvious in daily life.In self-inquiry we identify the factors that interfere with the natural revelation of the Self. With Self knowledge thinking and action will be there but without a center. In contrast in self-ignorance we think and act from a center and so action is incomplete which leads to misery, violence, sorrow, anxiety, fear, ambition, greed. So everybody needs self-inquiry in which there is insight into the structur...

Bhagavad Gita is a sermon given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna when the latter out of non-understanding wanted to escape from his duty as a warrior. Arjuna went into despair. Sri Krishna Seeing Arjuna's despair Krishna took that opportunity positively and he turned the focus of attention of Arjuna towards truth. After hearing the sutras in Samkhya yoga Arjuna started longing for truth and war became secondary though he is a warrior. So Krishna is successful to convert despair of Arjuna into longing for truth. By nature coal and diamond are made of same carbon but it is a skill to convert coal into a diamond.Krishna did that in case of Arjuna by using his alchemy of understanding. There are 18 chapters in Bhagavad Gita but Samkhya yoga, which is the yoga of understanding is the direct approach to truth. Others are meant for those who cannot understand Samkhya yoga. Lord Krishna himself declared this. So the author selected Samkhya yoga to convey the essence of Bhagavad Gita.
