The book is a collection of papers from the Proceedings of the 5th Italy-Japan Symposium 'Recent Achievements and Perspectives in Nuclear Physics', held in Naples as part of the framework of the INFN-RIKEN Research Collaboration Program. The meeting was devoted to recent achievements and new challenges in the different fields of nuclear physics, with the aim to promote new collaborations between the two communities and thereby enhance the development of nuclear physics in the two countries. Particularly interesting are the topics dedicated to radioactive beams and innovative instrumentation: the prospects for future accelerators and experimental setups as well as novel future research directions. These projects are of key importance for the future of heavy ion nuclear physics.
The book contains the papers presented in the French Japan Symposium on Nuclear Structure Problems, held in January 2011 at RIKEN Wako Campus with 100 participants. Based on the long history of collaboration between France and Japan in the field of nuclear physics, various problems in recent and future studies are discussed. Emphasis is on the structure of nuclei far from the stability, reactions involving stable and unstable nuclei, nuclear processes and properties in astrophysical interest, synthesis of super-heavy elements, and instrumentation and accelerator projects.
International Symposium on Origin of Matter and Evolution of Galaxies 2003, RIKEN, Wako, Saitama, Japan, Nov. 17-19, 2003; 8th meeting.
This volume discusses primarily the characteristics of reactions induced by unstable nuclei and aims to guide future directions in this area of research. In addition, the present status of research in related fields is reviewed. The topics discussed can be broadly classified into: fusion and transfer reactions with stable nuclei, fission and molecular resonance, structure of unstable nuclei, reactions with unstable nuclei, synthesis of superheavy elements and heavy-ion fusion with neutron-rich beams.
Unique summary of the environmental impact of the 2011 disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, for researchers, nuclear engineers and policymakers.
This is the proceedings of the International Symposium on Origin of Matter and Evolution of Galaxies which was held near Tokyo, Japan, in November 2003. The meeting brought together many scientists from vast fields — nuclear physics, particle physics, cosmic-ray physics, cosmology, astronomy, geophysics, and others — to promote discussion and collaboration. The proceedings have been selected for coverage in:• Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings® (ISTP® / ISI Proceedings)• Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings (ISTP CDROM version / ISI Proceedings)• CC Proceedings — Engineering & Physical Sciences

The proceedings focuses on the recent developments in the physics of unstable nuclei. The topics include: masses and radii of exotic nuclei, structure and decay of unstable nuclei, neutron-halo and excitations of neutron drip-line nuclei, new aspects of reaction dynamics induced by exotic nuclear projectiles, production and reactions of radioactive nuclear beams, and synthesis of superheavy elements.
