The book is a collection of Memoranda of Professor K Venkatagiri Gowda mostly addressed to the Former Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri. P V Narasimha Rao and the present Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri. Manmohan Singh, during 1991-96.
The authors have consolidated their research work in this volume titled Soft Computing for Data Mining Applications. The monograph gives an insight into the research in the ?elds of Data Mining in combination with Soft Computing methodologies. In these days, the data continues to grow - ponentially. Much of the data is implicitly or explicitly imprecise. Database discovery seeks to discover noteworthy, unrecognized associations between the data items in the existing database. The potential of discovery comes from the realization that alternate contexts may reveal additional valuable information. The rate at which the data is storedis growing at a phenomenal rate. The book is collection of 83 articles written by Professor Gowda which provide solutions to myriad of Economic problems of our Country.
The Structure and Function of Interleukin-4 provides a detailed summary of the pleiotrophic effects of IL-4. In Section I, the structure of the IL-4 gene, IL-4R gene, and IL-4 protein are described. In Section II, in vitro effects of IL-4 are reviewed and focus is on particular cell lineage, as well as the role of IL-4 in hemopoiesis. Section III features chapters that discuss the effects of IL-4 in vivo, highlighting the dramatic ability of IL-4 to induce the switch of B cells to produce IgE. The Structure and Function of Interleukin-4 is an important book for immunologists, cell biologists, and pharmacologists who need a succinct description of the role of IL-4 in the development of different cell types and in cell-cell communication in the immune system.
Annotation This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Neural Information Processing, ICONIP 2004, held in Calcutta, India in November 2004. The 186 revised papers presented together with 24 invited contributions were carefully reviewed and selected from 470 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on computational neuroscience, complex-valued neural networks, self-organizing maps, evolutionary computation, control systems, cognitive science, adaptive intelligent systems, biometrics, brain-like computing, learning algorithms, novel neural architectures, image processing, pattern recognition, neuroinformatics, fuzzy systems, neuro-fuzzy systems, hybrid systems, feature analysis, independent component analysis, ant colony, neural network hardware, robotics, signal processing, support vector machine, time series prediction, and bioinformatics.
This book is dealing with most recent advances in the field of cytokines in hemopoiesis, oncology and AIDS. It covers a wide range from basic research to clinical applications. Overviews on the biological role of cytokines are represented within the book as well as experiments with research on new cytokines and special effects of cytokines. The book will be of interestto hematologists and oncologists as well as imunologists who are engaged in the development of innovative therapy. It gives an overview on the most recent status of the discussion in this field.
With contributions by numerous experts
Artificial intelligence has been applied to many areas of science and technology, including the power and energy sector. Renewable energy in particular has experienced the tremendous positive impact of these developments. With the recent evolution of smart energy technologies, engineers and scientists working in this sector need an exhaustive source of current knowledge to effectively cater to the energy needs of citizens of developing countries. Computational Methodologies for Electrical and Electronics Engineers is a collection of innovative research that provides a complete insight and overview of the application of intelligent computational techniques in power and energy. Featuring research on a wide range of topics such as artificial neural networks, smart grids, and soft computing, this book is ideally designed for programmers, engineers, technicians, ecologists, entrepreneurs, researchers, academicians, and students.
Lifestyle, in any part of the world, is associated with the occurrence of major chronic diseases, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, and stroke; many distinct types of cancer; and adult onset diabetes (11,22,70,75). One important element of lifestyle is tobacco use, which appreciably increases the risk of a number of chronic diseases (21). Other lifestyle factors relate to nutritional traditions, alcohol use, and exercise (11,30,58,60,70,71). The underlying evidence is, in part, based on the evidence of specific diseases in relation to dietary habits in a given geographic region, as well as changes in such disease occurrences in migrant populations from a low risk to a high risk...
