This book aims to inspire readers to know some facts surrounding cancer and face the adversities in life and win over them through practical life lessons that I have shared from my valuable learning and experiences. The book is primarily about my fight against cancer and recovery from it. In different chapters, I have tried to share my learning in this journey from detection to treatment and my personal experiences. I am a strong believer in destiny and one of the lessons I have learnt is that destiny only decides our direction and our destination. I, therefore, advise you to not fret and rue over the past or be worried about the uncertain future. Life is all about living in the present and ...
This two-volume text demonstrates the progress towards a better and more rational use of blood kproducts. The major topics of transfusion therapy are covered from both a laboratory and a clinical perspective. Discipline lines are crossed, involving such topics as biochemistry, hematology and infectiious disease. This reference serves as an important resource for clinicians involved in transfusion, blood bank personnel, and scientists working with the development of improved blood components.
Land degradation, meaning any reduction or loss in the biological or economic productive capacity of the land resource base, is a global problem. Land, water, and forest resources can become degraded due to poor and often short-sighted management. In this context, land degradation neutrality (LDN) is an approach that counterbalances the expected loss of productive land with the restoration of degraded areas. Forests are a major land use/cover that covers about 30 per cent of the land on Earth and thus hold great potential to help not only achieve LDN but also make Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) a reality. This Research Topic will focus on forest management and restoration for achieving...

First Published in 1988 Entrepreneurship in the Third World argues that the substantial theoretical literature on entrepreneurship and small business development really relates to the developed world only and is not applicable to the developing world. It argues that, because of the very different circumstances indeed which apply in the developing world- for example, the less developed banking system or the expectation that breadwinners provide for extended families- new theories of entrepreneurship and small business development need to be generated for the developing world. It goes on to put forward theories here, analysing and presenting a substantial body of original data. It discusses policies which third world countries have adopted to assist small business growth and concludes by suggesting, in the light of the research findings and the theories put forward, how these might be improved. This book will be of interest to scholars and researchers of Pakistani economics, South Asian economics, and business economics.
This book provides the first comprehensive comparison of the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) requirements of the two most widely known aviation regulators: the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It offers an in-depth examination of the elements of an AMP, explaining the aircraft accident investigations and events that have originated and modelled the current rules. By introducing the Triangle of Airworthiness model (Reliability, Quality and Safety), the book enables easier understanding of the processes by which an aircraft and its components are deemed to be in a safe condition for operation from a cost-effective and optimization perspective. The book compares the best practices used by top airlines and compiles a series of tools and techniques to improve the standards of the AMP. Aircraft maintenance engineers, students in the field of aerospace engineering, and airlines staff, as well as researchers more widely interested in safety, quality, and reliability will benefit from reading this book
Why does capital formation often fail to occur in developing countries? Capital and Collusion explores the political incentives that either foster growth or steal nations' growth prospects. Hilton Root examines the frontier between risk and uncertainty, analyzing the forces driving development in both developed and undeveloped regions. In the former, he argues, institutions reduce everyday economic risks to levels low enough to make people receptive to opportunities for profit, stimulating developments in technology and science. Not so in developing countries. There, institutions that specialize in sharing risk are scarce. Money hides under mattresses and in teapots, creating a gap between a...
Among the major publications of IQRA Publications is the popular Islamic monthly in English, the Young Muslim Digest, arguably among the foremost in this type of publishing in India. This magazine is being brought out regularly by IQRA Publications since the past 36 years. The magazine carries authentic Islamic material for the Western-educated and/or West-influenced youth, presented in a creative manner, while yet highlighting the beliefs of the earliest predecessors and an understanding of the Qur’an and Sunnah on the pattern of the great majority of Islamic scholars of the past, and of those prominent down to the present age. In view of the authentic nature of its contents, the magazine has been awarded license for distribution in Saudi Arabia. Besides the regular, monthly, production of the Young Muslim Digest, IQRA Publications has quite a few other Islamic titles to its credit. Each one of these books offer authentic material and cover topics that are not normally covered by other publishers. It is, perhaps, for this reason that they are popular even outside the country. Malaysia, for instance, imports many of IQRA’s titles regularly.
